As a Master Stylist at David Michael Hair Studio in Paramus, Alexis Trombetta logs nearly as many hours in the studio as she does off-site.  In the two-plus years since the studio opened, she's developed a loyal, word-of-mouth following for what's known as "event hair" -- that is, perfect hair for special occasions such as weddings, proms and galas. "This is something I always wanted to do," she says, recalling how she used to do all of her friends' up-dos for prom night. Today, Trombetta books up to ten event hair appointments each month, interspersed with appearances throughout Bergen County and beyond. The salon partners with retailers for high-profile events such as "Make-Over America" at Macy's (at which David Michael Hair Studio was the official salon) and Bloomingdale's "Pre-Wedding Party" for brides-to-be.

In December, Trombetta and salon owner David DeGraw traveled to Los Angeles on a similarly inspiring styling mission: doing the hair of salon client Amanda Arlauskas, a finalist on NBC's hit show The Biggest Loser. She calls the experience "a career highlight. It was amazing being behind the scenes for four days. I'd love to do it again." Trombetta also finds satisfaction in the salon's community outreach initiatives and recently teamed up with the American Cancer Society to style 10 wigs for cancer patients.
